You will be met on arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, the airport named after Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest peak. As you transfer to your accommodation, Arumeru Lodge, keep on the look out for views the mountain. Your lodge is set amid tranquil gardens, and is home to dik-diks, monkeys and a large number of bird species, providing you with a warm welcome to Tanzania, or as it was once called, Tanganyika.
The following morning, you will embark on your tented safari along what is a sublime expansion on Tanzania’s Northern Circuit, offering diverse landscapes teeming with wildlife, including the Big Five and the seasonal Great Wildebeest Migration.
Your first stop is at Tarangire National Park which covers approximately 1,100 square miles. The Park is home to vast herds of elephants and over 550 bird species, as well as being famous for its expansive savannahs and ancient baobab trees. Your home for the following two nights is Maweninga Camp, perched on the top of an imposing granite rock, overlooking Lake Manyara and Burunge.
Two nights in Tarangire allows for extensive exploration of this lovely Park. Then, set off early for a full day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, named after the shallow alkaline lake that is a prominent feature of the park. The Park boasts diverse ecosystems from dense woodlands to the scenic lake itself. Renowned for its tree-climbing lions and abundant birdlife, including flamingos, Lake Manyara offers exceptional game viewing. In the late afternoon, set off for your accommodation for the night, Bashay Rift Lodge in Karatu, a village adjacent to Ngorongoro Crater.
One of your trips highlights is a full day game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. Its 2000’ deep walls enclose a diverse ecosystem supporting a plethora of wildlife, including the Big Five. Enjoy a game drive amidst stunning scenery and witness the unique coexistence of wildlife within this natural amphitheater. Returning to the Crater rim, you will continue to your accommodation, Olduvai Ndogo Camp, which boasts breathtaking views over the Serengeti Plains.
Next, continue on your journey to iconic Serengeti National Park. Covering a massive 5,700 square miles, Serengeti National Park is Africa's premier safari destination. Known for the annual Great Migration of millions of wildebeest and zebras, it hosts the Big Five and abundant wildlife year-round. Its vast plains, acacia-dotted savannahs, and riverine forests provide a picturesque backdrop for unforgettable game drives, hot air balloon safaris, and cultural experiences with the Maasai people.
You will start game driving as soon as you enter the Park gate, slowly making your way to your accommodation at the first of two fabulous Serengeti locations, Ronjo Camp, in Seronera, an area known for Big Cats.
Your second Serengeti base is Mara Post Camp perched atop a knoll offering unspoiled 270° views of the picturesque Mara River and the savannah. You will spend 3 nights here, continuing drives and walks in this game rich Park.
Having experienced the best of Tanzania’s wildlife experiences, fly back to Arusha where you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro airport for departure.

Featured Destinations
Arusha
Arusha is the safari capital of East Africa, a bustling, vibrant town with the streets filled with 4X4 game viewing vehicles criss-crossing the potholed roads. Maasai warriors in full regalia stroll the streets, mingling with tourists in crisp khaki, fresh off the plane from Europe or the United States.
Ngorongoro
An ancient hole in northern Tanzania, Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa's best wildlife-viewing spots since it acts like a natural cage; the crater's depth makes for a difficult escape for some animals, but most have no need to leave, finding plenty of resources inside. For the traveler, it means not only awesome wildlife viewing, but incredible views from accommodations on the crater's rim. Descend to the crater floor in a four-wheel drive; and once there just cruise around slowly and take in the scene — on any given day see lion, rhino, elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, Thomson's gazelle, zebra, and reedbuck. The small soda lake inside the crater is also the seasonal home of thousands of flamingos.
Serengeti
Today, the Serengeti National Park helps protect the greatest and most varied collection of terrestrial wildlife on earth, and one of the last great migratory systems still intact. The Serengeti is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania's protected areas and has come to symbolize paradise. The region encompasses Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Maswa Game Reserve, the Loliondo, Grumeti and Ikorongo Controlled Areas and Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Two World Heritage Sites and two Biosphere Reserves have been established within the region. It's unique ecosystem has inspired writers and filmakers as well as numerous photographers and scientists. The essential features of climate, vegetation and fauna have barely changed in the past million years. Some patterns of life, death, adaptation and migration are as old as the hills themselves.
Tarangire
As you enter Tarangire National Park a vast number of baobabs catch your eye. The gently rolling countryside is dotted with these majestic trees, which seem to dwarf the animals that feed beneath them. The park is spectacular in the dry season when many migratory wildlife species come back to the waters of the Tarangire River. Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, eland and oryx gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rains when they migrate again to good grazing areas. Tarangire National Park is second only to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area in concentrations of wildlife and lies to the south of the large, open grass plains of southern Maasailand.
